Welcome to my Connecticut garden. Like most gardeners in this area I have too many deer and slugs. I also have frogs, spotted salamanders, snakes, owls, birds and many wonderful wildlife visitors. Two projects that I've been working on for years and will probably work on - oh, forever - the elimination of my lawn (it's almost all moss now and I love it that way) and my plan to push back the woods just a little every year. I'm fond of the basics - rhodys and azaleas, dogwoods, mountain laurels, pieris, spirea, clethra, forsythia, leucothoe, ninebark and I adore japanese maples. I also have a large stand of bamboo which I would never have planted myself but I've grown to love.

If you'd like to know what any particular plant is, just email me at
